Are you a Social Cast Out?

Let me explain what I am asking. First I am NOT asking if someone had cast you out of the camp or the church or like a demon. I am asking you if you have CAST OUT your “fishers of men SOCIAL media fishing nets” to reach the Online Mission Field?

In Jesus’ time, they would walk from town to town bringing the message of Salvation through Christ. They had no choice but to do it this way. And I Love that they had the zeal to go by foot and they were obedient to the great commission to Go! They were amazing men!

I believe 100% that we should and must GO out into all the world physically to bring the message of Christ. My wife Carmin and I love to GO out locally and globally doing mission work. God Willing, we are going to Alaska in May with a team from our church. Face to face evangelism must not stop!

But we are in a different time and culture that has many new ways to reach people for Christ. And a hugh way is using Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, and Video broadcasting just to name a few. Social Media is an awesome effective method for you to cast out the message of Christ to more people then ever before.

There are millions who are online who have never heard of Jesus or have confessed Faith in Jesus. There are also what I call “in the closet seekers” who are engaged in the cyber world and behind closed doors, seek for truth and to find out more about Jesus. These are people who need to hear about the Gospel, about the Love of Jesus and how they can be forgiven and receive Salvation.

Social media, like I mentioned earlier, is another “Net” that you should have in your “fishing for souls tool box.” Why? Because its a “Net” that you can Cast Out all over the world at the same time. Because people are searching for Jesus. And its a way to spread your mission and your vision by utilizing the strategies of InterNET evangelism.

If you are not utilizing Social Media you are missing out on great opportunities to Cast Out the Gospel to reach the Online Mission Field. Your missing out on awesome opportunities to reach the lost that won’t usually walk into a church. You will be missing out on being able to engage with people you would never have had the chance to meet, to connect with those who are seeking, hurting, confused and to be able to connect and build great relationships with people who over time you can speak into their lives from thousands of miles away!

Social Media is interactive that allows you to connect and communicate with millions of people that need to hear the message of Jesus. Its also a great way to connect and interact with Pastors, Ministry leaders/founders and Missionaries like never before. Just yesterday I had an awesome opportunity to connect with a Pastor from Pakistan, through Facebook. We had an awesome conversation about ministry and I am hoping to someday go to do ministry with him in Pakistan. I made a connection otherwise I would have never made if it wasn’t for social media.

Social Media is also a great way to connect with people right in your own community. There are “in the closet seekers” right in your own backyard. Those who wouldn’t just walk into a church and sit down to hear your message. Its also a way for those who are seeking to get to hear (if you are a Pastor/Minister) what you have to say, to get to know you and trust you. And I believe the seeker(s) you connect with in your local community, over time, will visit your church or ministry.

In this technological world that we live in, Church & Ministry leaders must have an open willingness to learn and utilize technology, internet and social media to confidently live out your faith in the digital world and to reach the Online Mission Field that awaits to hear about Jesus.

This is one of my passions, to help you and assist small Churches, Ministries and individuals who are not using social media. To help them learn about and start using Social Media so that you can Cast Out a New Net and become a part of the Social Cast Out’s and further the Kingdom Of God!
